Philodendron Subhastatum Rooted Cutting

Well rooted in spaghnum moss in a 5.5cm diameter nursery pot with new growth recently emerged. Unfortunately has a small tear in latest leaf.

An uncommon and unusual type of Philodendron which has waxy green leaves with bold red undersides, a striking addition to your home & plant collection.

Despite its uncommeness, this Philodendron is pretty much as easy to care for as other more common Philodendrons. Although it prefers bright, indirect light it can adapt to most lighting situation. It isn’t overly thirsty and is happy for its soil to occasionally dry out between waterings

The Philodendron Subhastatum will naturally try to climb upwards, because of this it is best supported with a moss pole or plant stake. 

Care:

Light:  Tolerant of medium light to bright indirect light, however too much light can cause brown, crispy tips on the leaves.

Water: This plant likes to be moist but doesn’t want its roots to be constantly wet. Water when the top 2/3 of the soil dries out. For best results water from underneath with the use of a saucer to reduce the chance of root rot. Reduce watering during winter months.

Food: Feed fortnightly during the growing season but not during winter.

Humidity: High humidity will produce a happier plant but will tolerate a normal household humidity. A low humidity will cause brown, crispy tips on the leaves.
